Havida prepares for take-off
The Brønnøysund company formerly known as SBS Teknikk is ready to hunt bigger fish in the blue economy.
– “SBS Teknikk has been our ‘garage name’ for a few years, and now we are finally ready to aim higher. That’s why we have chosen to change our name to Havida,” explains Tomas Sund, CEO of the company.
Why Havida?
Tomas explains that the name, like so many of their ideas, came late at night after a long day at work. They wanted a name that was both playful and a precise match for the work they are delivering. So the new name represents both the sea and life – the latter from the word “vita” in Latin.
– “After all, we supply equipment that takes care of life in the cages in the sea, so the name felt very natural. It’s playful and modern. It feels like us,” he says proudly.
Out into the world
With a new name, a new logo and a clear vision of making the blue economy more sustainable, what was once a small garage business has grown – and it’s now ready for a position in the market.
– “The aim is that Havida will be the preferred partner when technology meets the blue economy. We will achieve this by continuing to focus on producing and developing our products with respect for nature and the ocean,” concludes Maya Sund.
