PowerGuard

Havida PowerGuard (Patent Pending)
The PowerGuard series is designed to ensure stable and continuous operation of critical electrical systems installed directly on each fish cage. The solution consists of a distributed, cage-mounted, and autonomous three-phase power and control architecture that maintains the power supply to essential installations in the event of an external power failure.
The PowerGuard system consists of two main modules:
- PowerGuard Hub – an intake cabinet that receives power from an external source and distributes it throughout the system.
- PowerGuard Mega – a robust power supply platform with an integrated energy reserve that automatically maintains operation when the primary power supply fails.
Together, PowerGuard Hub and PowerGuard Mega form the PowerGuard system, delivering local, autonomous power supply at the cage level.
- PowerGuard Extender (optional) is an expansion module for battery capacity that can be connected to PowerGuard Mega when required. This module increases the available energy reserve and extends operating time during backup operation.
By placing the energy reserve and control systems locally on each cage, every cage operates as an electrically independent energy cell. This ensures that underwater lighting, cameras, communication systems, and other critical electronics continue to operate without interruption, while eliminating the risk that a fault in one system will affect multiple cages.
The PowerGuard system is compatible with all types of installations and electrical systems used on fish cages.
To achieve full autonomous functionality and intelligent lighting control, the Havida Sense PDU is used as the local power distribution and control unit. Combined with the Solaris underwater lighting series—including Solaris 6K, Solaris 40K, and Solaris 80K – the system enables automatic dimming logic during backup operation. In the event of a power outage, the lighting level is automatically reduced in a controlled manner to maintain stable lighting conditions while optimizing the use of available battery capacity.
The PowerGuard series is specifically developed for demanding marine environments and modern aquaculture operations. The result is high operational reliability, stable lighting conditions that support fish welfare, and continuous access to monitoring and control systems—even during external power outages.
Key Features
- Distributed power supply per cage
Each cage functions as an independent electrical energy cell. This eliminates centralized single points of failure and prevents issues in one cage from affecting the rest of the facility.
- Uninterrupted operation without light flicker
In the event of external power loss, the system automatically transitions to battery-based operation within milliseconds. Underwater lighting and critical systems continue operating without visible interruption or flicker.
- Automatic and intelligent lighting control
When combined with the Havida Sense PDU and Solaris underwater lighting, the light intensity is automatically reduced to a predefined level when switching to backup mode. This maintains stable lighting conditions for the fish while maximizing the efficiency of available battery capacity.
- Continuous monitoring and communication
Cameras, sensors, and communication equipment remain operational during power outages, ensuring that monitoring, control, and remote management are maintained at all times.
- Designed for demanding marine environments
The system is designed for direct installation on fish cages in aquaculture facilities. The modular architecture allows easy expansion of battery capacity and flexible adaptation to different installations and operational requirements.
